Bill has practiced law since 2004. He received his bachelor’s degree in English, cum laude, from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 1997. After working in the public sector for several years, Bill attended the Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa, were he received his juris doctor with high honors in 2004. While at law school, Bill was on Drake’s 2002-2003 National Moot Court team that took first place in regional and finished within the top twenty in national competition. Bill was also a member of the Drake Law Review editorial board in 2003-2004.

Bill began his legal career in Iowa where he practiced primarily in civil litigation including insurance defense, products liability defense, and workplace discrimination cases. As an adoptive parent himself, Bill also enjoyed practicing adoption law in Iowa and assisted with the finalization of multiple private adoptions during his approximately four years in Iowa.

Then, in 2008, Bill and his wife decided it was time to raise their kids closer to family and so he accepted a position with Merrill & Merrill, Chtd. While Bill’s practice will continue to be primarily civil litigation with an emphasis in insurance defense, he also intends to continue his adoption practice and to expand his practice to include probate matters. Bill is admitted to practice law in all State and Federal Courts in Idaho.

Bill and his wife, Georgia, have been married for twelve years and have two children. They enjoy spending time together as a family in a myriad of activities.
